[00:00:00] I don't know what I'm drinking tonight, but one of these is probably going to surprise me big time. This is still strength blind number four. Another one of using the wonderful old solo blind and tasting through four still strengths. A lot of people have given me options. So these are four different options that people reached out and said, try these. The lineup today. One that I've never had. Fresh pop open bottle cascane is number 10. One that I enjoy quite often, the La Puga 110. This amazing Cotor 100, which I'm probably going to be a little biased here because I did get to help pick the proof of this one with the guys. Thanks for bringing me out to the Couture 100. Keith Timey. It was a great time. And another one from the Midwest, some friends of mine. The old Manuscript Chapter two. So what's pretty cool, this one is coming in at 51, 55% alcohol. This one is coming in at 54% alcohol. This one is 55 and this one is 55. Don't know that I'll be able to pick up that heat difference since they're all so close. Close. And we have three that are Highland Agaves, La Puga Couture 100 and Manuscripto and Cascanes would be the only one in the Valles in this process. So let's dive into this, give it my spin. I think you know how this works. We've done enough of these for a little while. Those solar blind, you fill up the glasses, you put the little token in there, you write the name down on the token of which one you're drinking, you pull them out and you go, so let's roll this to the side. What's cool is these glasses actually can kind of come out and set down.
[00:01:35] Makes it really easy to do the actual blind. And here we go. All right, so let's do the nose first of each one and bust through them real quick here.
[00:01:48] That's got a nice nose, very floral, some fruitiness to it.
[00:01:53] This one's got a little bit of chocolate, a little bit of citrus.
[00:01:58] Good cooked agave. They both have really good cooked agave.
[00:02:02] This one's got a.
[00:02:04] A little more earthiness, a little more vegetalness to it.
[00:02:08] I do pick up a little hint of chocolate again though.
[00:02:12] A little more citrus and a little more floral in that one. Okay, so if I'm gonna rate the nose, man, I like this. I like this perfumey chocolate.
[00:02:23] But this has the probably the most flavors. So I'm going to say 1, 2, 3, then 4. And the flavor. So 1, 2, 3, 4. All right, let's. Let's dive in and taste here.
[00:02:37] Oh, wow. Cooked agave. Little bit of earthiness. Some nice citrus. A little floral. Kind of matches the nose. There's a lot going on. The finish is really nice and long.
[00:02:48] That floral picks up in the finish.
[00:02:50] That chocolate is really there. That's really good.
[00:02:54] Mmm. Creamy, floral, citrusy. A lot of heat in the. In the finish. A vegetal heat turns into a little bit of pepper, a little bit of a. Nice. That is a complex booger right there. I'm gonna say that one moved ahead a little bit. This one's a little hotter, too, so I have a feeling this one is a little bit higher proof.
[00:03:16] Again, nice fruitiness. A little bit of chocolate, A little bit of a vegetable. Note was a little bit of celery maybe. Definitely not as much heat. A whole lot of anise. And finish. In the second taste, it's like just a big mouthful of anise. And then a nice pepper hit in there too. That I'm going to say that one sits in third.
[00:03:39] More fruit. More almost like a red fruit. Nice peppery finish. It's long, it's hot to a little bit of citrus, and some minerality. Gosh, these are all so close together.
[00:03:51] I'm going to sip through them again, but I'm going to do it with a little bit of water in between. All right. I got to say, this was a hard one. These flavors are close.
[00:03:59] The flavors are very similar, but there's some distinct differences. But I think one's running into the other, so I want to do a little bubbly water and clean them out and do them one more time.
[00:04:11] The floral, the citrus, the minerality of this one is really good. And, you know, I like that one's nose the best too. So there's. There's a lot going on with that one, for sure. Man, that's good.
[00:04:24] There's a chocolate note in there with a. A little bit of a floral citrus note in there. More cooked agave in one than two. But you get a. This powerful anise in the finish that dries out the back of your mouth. Even that. That's really interesting.
[00:04:40] Even more anise in this one. Pepper's pretty neat. The minerality of this one has got almost a little bit of concrete there. That citrus is there. Very floral. I'm actually going to move that one into.
[00:04:51] That one's in second place. Now. Let's do this last one and reveal.
[00:04:57] I get, like, A on that one. Almost like a soapy, briny note that I didn't pick up before. Much lighter in finish than the others, but a really nice minerality and citrus that I'm almost going to tie these two up. This one's kind of a tie. I mean, it's these two. Both are so good. And I can't really put my finger on one is better than the other, I guess. I like this one's nose better. So this, I guess would be second. And then these two are very close as well. This one's hotter. Drinks like 110.
[00:05:30] In my mind. I think this one's laa because of the way that the heat is in it that I'm used to. And I do sip on this one a lot. As for the other three, I have no idea. And that's a random guess. So let's. Let's go with this one here as number. Number four. Cascane's number ten. That's what that one is. That's Cascade number ten. So that one is tied. Tied for fourth or tied for third. Then let's go with this next one. It is Lapu. Lapu. So I did. I did pull that in. There's a lot of familiarity with this one. To me, there's that chocolate note. There's that. That heat. I could tell that it was definitely hotter. Really enjoyed it. Tight for first. We'll call it second, whatever you want to call it. Cultura 100. So Kaltura 100. And then a number one is going to be Manuscript, though. That's really awesome. Manuscripto. This won this. I gotta say, this is probably the closest one I've done so far. The flavors of these were so good. There was a little bit something different, you know, in the. Those final two that put them a little behind These first two. These. The flavor profiles in these were so good. And maybe the fact that the 1 tens overpowered some of the flavors a little more than these little bit lower proofs. But man, these all are fantastic. I mean, you can't lose on any one of these brands. When you think of what La Puga is doing with all of their spirits, everything they bring out is just off the charts for me. Cascades is a brand that I've really just started to learn a little bit more about. Their Hoven blew me away. I love their Anejo that I've had. This 110. It's really good. That's the first time I've had it, so that's pretty awesome. And of course, Manuscripto Jake and the guys up there in Wisconsin have put out a fantastic brand and Oscar Vasquez has just done an amazing job as a master distiller on this one. And hey, give it up to Sergio Cruz Cotura 100 fantastic, fantastic high proof tequilas. That was a surprise. You never know who's going to win these. Thanks for suggesting these in a blind. Go ahead and give me some more ideas. I want to do a couple more still strengths before I move on to Reposados. Thanks for watching my videos. Leave in the comments which one of these is your favorite and if you've had these tequilas, what you think of them. Cheers. Have a fantastic night.
