Patrón 100 vs High Proof Tequilas… Blind Taste Test Results Patrón 100 goes head-to-head with high proof tequilas in this blind taste test—but does it actually hold up? In this video, I compare still strength tequila expressions up to 110 proof to see which one truly delivers. We’re putting some serious hitters on the table: * PM Spirits Still Strength Blanco (110 proof) * Suerte Still Strength Blanco (104 proof) * Mosto Edición Salvaje (106 proof) * Patrón 100 (Distilled to 100 proof) These high proof tequilas are often considered the purest expression of agave, with little to no water added after distillation. But does higher proof actually mean better tequila? This blind tasting breaks down: ✔️ Aroma ✔️ Flavor ✔️ Finish ✔️ Overall balance And more importantly… which one wins when you don’t know what you’re drinking? Drop your thoughts: Do you prefer still strength tequila or standard 80 proof? © Tasting Tequila with Brad

[00:00:00] All right, everybody, it's time for another blind. And this one, two of these tequilas I have tasted and talked about, this one right here being one. And two of these are brand new. Just popped the tops of these and put them into the glasses in the solo blind. And this came from a comment from the video that I just posted about the patron 100. Somebody said, how's it stack up in a blind? And I was already thinking before I got the comment, man, I gotta check that out. So as you know how the solar blind works, it filled up the blasters before we came on, put them in there, spin them around. And now, of course, I don't know what is what. And what we're going to do is we're going to stack them here and we're going to nose through, we're going to taste them, and we're going to see how these guys stand up in a blind. Now, first off, Musto. I got to give it up for the Musto guys for sending out this brand new bottle of their high proof. It's their still strength. Coming out of nom 1580. It is one of my Blancos of 2025 at the finish was amazing. The overall taste of it's great. PM Spirits. Love the PM Spirits products. Thanks to Nicholas for sending this out. I can't wait to try this hype proof. I'm really excited about it. And suerte still strength. I found it in a liquor store down in Evansville, Indiana and picked it up just because I heard so much about it. And this one I grabbed from Tonawine in Indianapolis, Indiana and just did a review on that one. So let's see how these guys stack up. I'm going to nose each one, then we're going to taste each one. Uh, I'm gonna line em up to how I think they stack up and then we'll reveal what they are. So here we go. Nice cooked agave. It's got a little bit of a, like a grassy note. Um, I like that. That's really nice. This one's also has a nice cooked agave to it. It's a little citrus, a touch of floral, this one. Wow. Nice cooked agave. That's really nice. That's. It's got a really nice floral note to it. There's some citrus there as well. You are going against all highland agaves, which is kind of cool. Uh, two of them Johona crust, two of them roller mill, all open fermentation. And this kind of nice cooked agave too. It's a Little more lime in this one. So I'm gonna go for nose number one, number two, and number three. So we're gonna. This would be number four on the taste. [00:02:12] Okay, let's. [00:02:14] Let's. Let's start with number one on the taste. Wow. I like that. This really cooked it out a really nice. [00:02:22] There's a little bit of cinnamon note in there. There's a little bit of citrus, a little touch of floral. And this citrus, I'm gonna say, is kind of a cross for me between a lime and an orange. That's really good. Has a lot of really nice flavor to it. Okay, let's dive into this one here. [00:02:40] I do like the nose. This one's, like, opened up a little bit on the nose. Nice sweetness, a little bit of a softer feel. [00:02:47] I don't think I mentioned proof, so 100, 104. [00:02:53] This one is 110, and this one is 110. So a little bit difference in proof, but all, you know, distilled to proof on a couple of these and then still strength on the other two. [00:03:07] This one has a really nice floral note to it. The cooked agave is there, but it has a, like, a different type of softness to this one, and it's very, well. Well rounded. [00:03:18] I have to say, as of right now, I like the flavors in number one more than number two. Let's go with number three. Nice coke agave, but very herbaceous. And I get just a. A green grass note. [00:03:32] I have to say, I. I think I. I think I know what this one is from that green grass note. I get it in suertes blanco every time. And I have this same, like, note that I pick up that I would recognize probably more from them, although I haven't had these two before, so who knows? That's just a guess at this point. Has a nice sweetness to it, but that vegetal, grassy note is right there. [00:03:53] Okay, let's do the last one. I like the pepper in the finish of this. [00:03:58] It really heats up more so than the others. [00:04:02] Makes me almost think this one's a higher proof. [00:04:06] Has a nice cooked agave. There's a nice lime zest note there. It's a. A touch floral, but not. Not as much as the. As these two. The. The finish is really long, and it has a nice. Really nice pepper finish to it. That sweetness of the cooked agave is really nice too. Okay, I. I'm actually gonna. I'm gonna switch this one as flavor. So number one in taste, number one in nose, number two in taste. Number two in nose. [00:04:32] This was number four in nose. But it's number three in taste. And this was the number four in taste. So let's start with the big reveal at the end. This one is going to be Swerte. [00:04:43] So Suerte is number four. [00:04:47] And again, a great tequila. Like I'm comparing good tequilas with good tequilas. Let's go with number three. We're going to have Batron. So number three is Batron. So the two that I've never tasted before. Here's the big reveal. [00:05:01] Number two is going to be PM Spirits. [00:05:05] So PM Spirits is number two. And that definitely leaves us with the last one and the winner, the Musto and musto. [00:05:17] How my how my m got that messed up is crazy. So there you have it. Musto, the winner of this still strength. They're high proof blind. [00:05:26] That's pretty exciting. A p.m. spirits. It's the first time I've had that. The Musto is the first time I've had it as well. And it, it is kind of cool to see where Patron 100 stacks up in a blind. I hope you thought this was fun. I would say I would recommend any one of these tequilas as a great sipper. Fantastic high proofs and if you can find them in your area, definitely check them out. Thanks to everybody who participated in this by sending bottles or thanks for just making fantastic tequila.
