[00:00:00] Another day, another celebrity tequila, but it's El Bandido Yankee from NFL's Jim Morris and NHL hall of Famer Chris Chelios. Their tagline is criminally smooth. Today we're going to be testing their high proof Blanca Plata 47. Can that smoothness hold up at 94 proof? Let's find out if this high octane outlaw spirit is the real deal. Check this out. [00:00:22] I did a video of this box opening the other day, and I was so, so excited about it. Before we talk about taste, let's talk about credibility. This isn't made in some faceless factory. It's crafted at the historic Elvijito distillery in Atatanico, Jalisco, under master distiller Karina rojo. They're using 100 mature blue agaves from the Los Altos region. Slow roasting in traditional stone ovens. They distill it twice in copper pot stills. Most importantly, it's confirmed a clean tequila, meaning no fakeness, no colors on paper. Everything checks out for this bold, authentic tequila. But how does it taste when the proof is pushed up? We're tasting the El Bandido Yankee Plata 47. They're 94 proof high proof blanco. This expression is named in the honor of Jim Morris's NFL number. All right, let's give this one a nose on the nose. It's bright and clean. A lot of fresh agave. I do pick up a little bit of lime and a little floral note and a nice hint of minerality. Let's hit it. The taste is where the high proof but low bite promises to come to life. This thing has a really bold flavor. It's got a nice roasted agave or cooked agave flavor. Complementary, complemented by some hints of citrus. It's got a herbal note as well and a distinct peppery kick. Really nice. Honestly, it's a lot like their regular El Bandido Yankee just kicked up a notch with a little more agave, a little more pepper. It's surprisingly approachable for its strength. It's a pleasant warm. The finish is a little bit stronger, I guess, because of that higher proof, but the flavor is robust and it's a really nice blanco and it really showcases quality agave. Let's try it one more time. In the finish, there's a really nice lime note that kind of transitions into a little bit of cinnamon and then into some pepper. Leaves your mouth feeling really clean. It does have a really nice mouth feel. You get a lot of viscosity from the oils and that agave. This is a really nice high proof. So you'd ask me what's the verdict? El Vendido Yankees High proof is the real deal. This is not another celebrity cash grab. It's genuinely a well made, authentic tequila that proves to be, under their tagline, criminally smooth. And the high proof can go hand in hand with a lot of the other high proofs that I like to drink. Despite its 47 ABV, the Plata 47 is remarkably drinkable. It's approachable, it's bold, it's agave forward. It's a great tequila with not as much alcohol burn as what you would think it would have. It's fantastic for tequila purists who want more intensity. It's approachable. It's a great high proof tequila. Have you tried el Bandido Yankee Plata 47? Let me know in the comments. Don't forget to like, share and subscribe. Cheers. I'll see you in the next one. Have a great night.
