[00:00:00] Speaker A: Hey, guys, Tonight we are going to talk about a tequila that we had while we were in around this, right?
[00:00:06] Speaker B: Yes.
[00:00:06] Speaker A: And you actually liked it, didn't you?
[00:00:08] Speaker B: Yes, I did.
[00:00:09] Speaker A: And it is. What. What is it?
[00:00:11] Speaker B: It's a crystalino.
[00:00:13] Speaker A: We don't always talk really nice about crystalinos, but this is one made by Tesoro Ozul and it is made in a very authentic manner when it comes to cooking and crushing and fermenting. And they. They do something to filter it so it's clear again. And it's a 35 ABV. So this one was pretty soft. And you liked it there, right?
[00:00:35] Speaker B: I even said, my friend Tammy, who doesn't like tequila at all, I was like, I think this is one that she should start with. She likes sweet drinks and likes wine. And I was like, I think Tammy might like this.
[00:00:48] Speaker A: When we brought it home, you said you weren't going to let her try it because you didn't want to run out of it, right?
[00:00:51] Speaker B: No, I said I wasn't going to give her the bottle.
[00:00:54] Speaker A: Oh, so you can drink it.
[00:00:56] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:00:56] Speaker A: So we've had. We've had quite the three months of traveling to Mexico, haven't we? Not.
[00:01:02] Speaker B: We have. It's been a bit since I've been on here.
[00:01:04] Speaker A: Yeah, it's been a long time.
[00:01:06] Speaker B: We've been to Tequila and Cabo San.
[00:01:10] Speaker A: Lucas, heading back in a couple of days to arrang us again. So it's been fun, but.
[00:01:15] Speaker B: Yeah, so fun.
[00:01:16] Speaker A: Okay, so let's. Let's talk about the nose of this one.
What do you get?
[00:01:23] Speaker B: Get a perfume smell.
[00:01:24] Speaker A: Okay. Which I usually say means floral. Right. It's like a flowery perfume. I get a little cooked agave.
[00:01:31] Speaker B: Yeah, Yeah, I do too.
[00:01:32] Speaker A: And I get some citrus. I don't know what citrus did I get? Citrus. I get a little citrus. All right, let's give it a try.
Is that as good as it was?
[00:01:48] Speaker B: Yeah, I think so.
[00:01:50] Speaker A: So that's good because you're gonna have to.
So we did get the opportunity to meet up with Alejandro Patterson, one of the part owners of Tesoro Azul and works as the master distiller. They make this at the distillery, 1416 in Jesus Maria. And his partner is Marco Antonio Solis, the singer. So I'm. I'm wearing a hat have to do with that, Right.
[00:02:14] Speaker B: Everybody was so excited when Fred would.
[00:02:16] Speaker A: Say, yeah, as soon as I told him the tequila. When we were in Cabo, they were really excited that it was his tequila. And he showed us through the whole distillery. They make Some other brands there as well, like Campos, old 1940, and then some other brands that maybe don't fit into the brands that the crazy tequila aficionados or us nerds drink.
But they're very open. And there was.
[00:02:41] Speaker B: There was no.
[00:02:42] Speaker A: Nothing they didn't show.
[00:02:43] Speaker B: Hiding? I don't think so.
[00:02:45] Speaker A: Yeah. He walked us through everything. What's really neat is at that distillery. There's another brand that's made there that has a different nom number in the same distillery. And he said you could take pictures and videos and talk about everything on this side, and we're going to show you everything on that side, but you can't take any pictures. So we didn't get to take anything.
[00:03:05] Speaker B: It.
[00:03:05] Speaker A: They were really open. You know, they have every method to make tequila there. They. They showed us, you know, their stone ovens, their autoclaves. We've seen their roller mill. They even took us to the building where their diffuser is and said, look, here's our diffuser. We've seen their stills, which. Their stills are really. That setup was really cool.
[00:03:23] Speaker B: It was, yeah, all beautiful.
[00:03:25] Speaker A: Yeah. Really fancy. Lean stainless steel with copper coils. They showed us, you know, where they filter the tequila to make the crystalino. They showed us where they aerate and store their blanco and let it rest before it's bottle. And talk about a great time. Like, those guys took, like, amazing care they did. They picked us up at. Around us, drove us to Jesus Maria from there. They wanted to go eat somewhere, and we had some friends that were throwing a barbecue party, so we took them. We took them up to 1580, where we hung out with all the guys from Musto and just had a great time drinking tequila and eating. And then they drove us all the way back to the hotel in Guadalajara. And then Tony left her purse in the park.
Yeah. So the next day, the purse was.
[00:04:13] Speaker B: Brought before we got in there. Yeah, it worked.
[00:04:16] Speaker A: It worked out, and it was a great time. And thanks, Alejandro, for. For the hospitality and taking care of us and showing us around. It was a great time. Great tequila. Would you make drinks with this or just drink it straight?
[00:04:29] Speaker B: I think you just drink it straight.
[00:04:32] Speaker A: Well, I agree. That's how I drink to you. I think it's pretty good.
[00:04:35] Speaker B: I. I think just drink straight.
[00:04:36] Speaker A: So there's two crystalinos that I. I know are clean, additive free, and that I've tasted, and I could drink one of them.
And the other one was the one that we see that partita.
[00:04:45] Speaker B: Yeah, yeah.
[00:04:46] Speaker A: And that was a good, good tequila. And when you look at theirs, it's not completely clear, like their blanco. When you compare these two, there's a little bit more color, and that's because in their process, they're. They're not wanting to take out all of the flavor and then have to add additives back in. So you have a little color there still. You do pick up a little bit of the oakiness that you get in an anejo, and then it's still pretty agave forward.
[00:05:12] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:05:13] Speaker A: Especially as a 35% ABV. I mean, unfortunately, you have to drink a lot more of these than you do the others.
[00:05:21] Speaker B: Well, you may need to cheat them.
[00:05:24] Speaker A: Do I drink a lot of tequila? I do. Well, honey, I want to say thanks for all this crazy traveling and let me do all this crazy tequila stuff. Are you having fun doing it? You like the traveling?
[00:05:34] Speaker B: I do. I love.
[00:05:36] Speaker A: So at least we've got a good portion of Mexico down to travel to all the time.
[00:05:41] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:05:41] Speaker A: Well, that's a quick video, but it's a nice breakdown of this Crystalino. And if you haven't had this Crystalino, do you suggest people give it a try?
[00:05:50] Speaker B: Yeah, definitely. And I'm gonna share it with Tammy.
[00:05:53] Speaker A: Oh, Tammy actually gets to taste this.
[00:05:54] Speaker B: She will.
[00:05:55] Speaker A: Okay, well, we'll. We'll tag her in the video again. Alejandro, thanks to you and all the guys for taking care of us. Appreciate you. And we'll enjoy a little toro aul. And close it out listening to little Marco Antonio.
Cheers, babe. Love you.
