[00:00:00] These aren't just still strengths. These are the top winners. Out of dozens of blinds. Four bottles rose to the top. [00:00:07] No labels, no hype, just agave. Today we're going to put the four champions in the same room and see who's still standing at the end. This is the still strength. Winners drink off. I'm so fired up to get to use my solar blind one more time, and I do think it's kind of crazy. When you look at these four bottles, they all have something in common. [00:00:26] They all have black labels. So maybe if you pick up a still strength and it's got a black label, you know it's going to be good. All right, so let's talk real quick about how the solar blind works. You fill up the glasses with the tequila. You put the name on the little tag. The tags go in those slots. You fill them up, and you put them in here. And then what do you do? You spin them around. [00:00:48] You don't know where they're going to land. And this way you're doing a true blind where you have no idea what the tequila is. Okay, let's pop the top off. Now. The cool thing is we can set these out here, like, so those out of the way. Let's move these glasses over a little bit here. These bottles kind of fired up that I got to pull out a shirt that is literally from my childhood when MTV held a party at the Cobble Wobble Cantina and Van Halen actually played. This shirt is from, like, 1991. I guess running all those marathons made it to where it still fits again. So I'm kind of fired up to wear it today, so I hope you enjoy. All right, let's start with the first one. [00:01:27] Ooh, really nice nose. [00:01:30] Cooked agave. A lot of fruit, A lot of minerality. [00:01:35] When I say fruit, it's like citrus and floral, like orange blossom. That's really good. Okay, let's check this one out. [00:01:43] Okay, good cooked agave. Not quite the floral aromas, but a lot of minerality. [00:01:49] That's nice. That's really good. [00:01:52] It's. [00:01:53] Ooh, that is nice. The legs on it are really nice. [00:01:58] It's got a nice floral note. A much higher cooked agave note than the first two. Almost like a roasted cocoa gave with this nice minerality to it. Oh, there's a floral note. Okay, let's dive into this last one. Wow. Okay, so the cooked agave here and the vegetal notes and just a pure pedrichore note. Just honestly, like. Like, it's just Wet earth and concrete. It's really good. Okay, so as for nose, I'm giving this one the absolute best nose. These three are kind of tied. [00:02:32] This one to me. I. I actually think I know what this one is. So I'm going to start with this one. [00:02:39] The vegetable notes on this and the koka gabi together with almost like a chocolate, dark chocolate type note. And you get all of this vegetal notes and you get this Pedrichore note. The finish is great. I love that tequila. That's really good. [00:02:56] Creamy cooked agave, floral orange blossom, orange. [00:03:02] A nice heat, nice pepper in the finish. It really lingers. It makes your whole mouth water. This is really good. [00:03:09] Damn. This is going to be hard to pick a winner. [00:03:14] The anise that's in that one. [00:03:16] The cooked agave in the front, then floral. This anise lights up the back of your throat. [00:03:23] Wow. [00:03:24] Cooked agave. Creamy, buttery, lots of minerality. Probably the most cooked agave flavor out of all four. [00:03:34] The least amount of floral, but a nice citrus and a really nice minerality note. Like a gosh, it's like a really good Pedrich. [00:03:42] Pedrichore orangey note. The nose is way more floral than what the taste is. Okay, so now I have to say which one of these wins. That's. To pick a winner out of these four are really impossible. They. They all have something a little different. I do believe these three are highlands. I do believe this one is vias. So I'm going to say my favorite one today is this one here. [00:04:08] And I'm gonna say my second favorite one today. [00:04:11] I'm gonna say that's Cascawin Lata 48. I just have a feeling these two, I really don't know which they are, but they're so amazing. [00:04:23] The difference of these are so hard to choose which one is the winner. I have to say I like the nose of this one. I like the flavor of that one the best. [00:04:34] I like the vegetal notes and the pedrichor in this one a lot. The fruit, the floral and the coke to Gobi in these are fantastic as well. So. So let's go with. Let's. Let's just call this one last place and let's pull it out. So this one is going to be tap, right? So that one is tapatio. [00:04:56] Let's say this one is next and this one, it says Alma. So that's the Alma. The Hogwire Fantastic tequila number two. Let's see if I was right. I48, baby. I knew that was Cascaline. I can pick cascaline up out of every anything every time. I love that tequila. It is, it's really one that I drink a lot, so very much a go to. So that means the winner of this one is right. So right here, here's your winner of the winners blinds manuscript though. Every one of these tequilas are absolutely amazing, as you can see. Almost gone, almost gone, almost gone. I finished one, so this one just got open. [00:05:42] These are fantastic tequilas. If you're looking for a still strength that's just got an amazing agave forward flavor that gives you, you know, know everything you're looking for. [00:05:53] Any one of these are going to be a win to all the master distillers that make these. [00:05:57] From the Camaranis to Sergio Cruz to Chava Rosales to Oscar Vasquez, these guys are all killing it. Every time one of their tequilas comes out, I love it. And you can never go wrong with them. So there you go. I think next I'm going to do a series of four blinds of just blancos. I've ordered some black Glen Karen glasses and they're not in yet. So I don't want to start the reposados and the anejos until after I have those glasses so I can't see the colors. So for my first blanco blind, give me four blancos in the comments to start with and I hope you enjoy this little still strength series of blinds. Thanks for watching. Have a great one.
