[00:00:01] Speaker A: All right, welcome back to tasting tequila with Brad. Today I have the honor of speaking with a true icon in the tequila industry. Larina del tequila, the queen of tequila herself, Meli Barajas. She's one of the few female masters, master distillers in Mexico. A pioneer of traditional tequila production and a visionary behind brands that are celebrated worldwide. Melly, thank you so much for joining me today. [00:00:27] Speaker B: Gracias a ti. Muchísimas gracias por estar con nosotros. [00:00:31] Speaker A: OK, so from the little bit of research I've done, you began your career in teaching and fashion design. ¿How did that conversation go with your father that sparked your move into tequila? [00:00:46] Speaker B: Fíjate que hace mucho tiempo si era diseñadora de modas y también era educadora. Y lo que pasa es que un día fuimos a una cabaña cerca de aquí de Guadalajara con mi papá y mi papá llegó muy emocionado para comentarme que teníamos denominación de origen Europa. Y entonces dijo las palabras mágicas que cambiaron mi vida. Cómo me gustaría tener un tequila. Entonces, ya sabes, para mí era mi príncipe azul. Entonces mi papá quiere un tequila. Y a partir de ahí empezó toda esta historia para hacerle un regalo a papá. [00:01:28] Speaker C: So it began when Meliss was a fashion designer and also she was an educator. And it began, they went to a place near here in Guadalajara and her father asked her to make a tequila for him. And Melly, like their parents are, fathers are your heroes. So she decided when her father told her that that she will make her father, her dream, his dream come true. So that's where she decided to start doing tequila. [00:02:01] Speaker A: Wow. ¿At that time, did she ever imagine that it would grow from a small family project into a full distillery with Global Exports? [00:02:11] Speaker B: Mira, nunca, nunca pensé poder llegar a donde estaba realmente. Yo lo único que quería es darle una botella papá para sus amigos y para sus fiestas. Nunca pensé en hacer una fábrica, en estar exportando. Solamente quería las botellas de papá. [00:02:40] Speaker C: Present to her father, a little bottle for him to take to the parties and make him happy. And that's it. But now she's grown a lot and. But she never thought she would reach to this point. [00:02:53] Speaker A: ¿What was the toughest barrier to overcome as a young woman stepping into this industry in the nineties that was mainly controlled by men at the time? [00:03:03] Speaker B: Exactamente eso que dijiste, Brand era una industria totalmente de caballeros. Todos eran hombres. No había una sola mujer en ese entonces. Y la verdad, pues fue un reto muy grande. Porque realmente la gente no quería personas o mujeres que entraran a este medio. Porque ellos pensaban que no íbamos a hacer las cosas bien. [00:03:33] Speaker C: Melly saying that actually, what cause is what you say, it was a man industry. So it was very difficult for her to get in because men thought that women were not capable of doing the men job. So that was her main obstacle. [00:03:56] Speaker B: Pero no los culpa. Realmente era una niña que quería ellos pensaba que iba a jugar con esto. Ellos tenían un abolengo. Sus abuelos, sus bisabuelos venían del tequila. Y como una niña, quería empezar a jugar con algo que era tan sagrado para. [00:04:25] Speaker C: They came from an industry that their parents and family, and maybe grandparents had that were like trespassing to them. And maybe they thought that Mellie was just a little girl having fun. So she doesn't blame them, but it was. It was something like new for her and. And, yes, that was her obstacle. [00:04:56] Speaker A: ¿Isn'T it funny that men think women can't do their job? But the truth is that men can't do any job that women can do. [00:05:05] Speaker B: It divertido. Is very, very fun. [00:05:11] Speaker A: Okay, so I think it's around nineteen, ninety nine at age twenty two. You decided to launch your own distillery. [00:05:24] Speaker B: ¿Qué se siente? Muy buena pregunta. La verdad es que se siente como estar en un sueño. Porque realmente nunca pensé ni buscaba lo que tenemos ahorita. Entonces realmente es como despertar de un sueño. [00:05:45] Speaker C: Because she, actually, it was a very hard work for her, but from one day to another. Meaning, a lot of work. But now she has what she has struggled for. And she thinks it's like very nice ring. [00:06:04] Speaker A: Yes, yeah. It's such an amazing thing that you've been able to do. It's very impressive. [00:06:10] Speaker B: Es muy. Yo te voy a decir algo, Bra. Las mujeres tenemos algo. Tenemos cierta magia. Y yo soy feliz utilizando la magia de muchas mujeres para producir ese tequila. [00:06:32] Speaker C: Discovering the magic in every single woman and girl that works at the distillery. Because every magic they have, it's unique. So it's brings like something very special and unique to the distillery. [00:06:47] Speaker A: I can see that. Now vino Waile Cor. That's the distillery that you run today. And I do believe that almost all of the distillery is run by women from the entire production method to also the bottling of the tequila and selling the tequila out of the distillery. It's all done by women today correctly. [00:07:12] Speaker B: Desde la que gima. Debiste de venir para ver cómo gimábamos. Cómo se giman, cómo giman las mujeres. Desde las chicas que giman hasta las chicas que van a vender el producto a Estados Unidos Todas son mujeres. [00:07:29] Speaker C: Yes, we are all women to the harvest, to the cot, to the bottling sales at the office, we are all woman. [00:07:41] Speaker B: Mi traductora. [00:07:46] Speaker A: OK, so the agaves that you use for your tequila, I believe they all come from the highlands. ¿Is that correct? [00:07:53] Speaker B: Sí, para mí es muy importante. La materia prima en el tequila en Los Altos de Jalisco es tierra roja. Y tú sabes que lo rojo quiere decir que tiene muchísimos minerales y al tener contacto con el oxígeno se vuelve roja. Entonces, además de una excelente bebida, puede ser hasta medicinal por todo lo que absorbe nueve años esa planta de esa tierra. [00:08:24] Speaker C: Melly saying that Yes, all the agaves is from the highlands of Jalisco and she takes very good care of especially that because it's very important and it's what gives a very nice notes in the tequila because actually when it oxygenates, it becomes red, so it gives a really good touch. [00:08:50] Speaker B: Los agaves de Los Altos tienen una combinación de notas frutales y herbales. De las dos, the agaves from the. [00:09:01] Speaker C: Highlands of Jalisco they have this distinguished thing that they have very exquisite notes of herbal and fruital notes, so that's what also makes very special. [00:09:15] Speaker A: ¿Leyenda Mexico Now, are some of these agaves coming from fields that you guys own as well? [00:09:22] Speaker B: See, si tenemos mucha plantación de agave, tengo que cuidar lo especial, tiene que ser chequeado para poder hacer un buen tequila. [00:09:34] Speaker C: Yes, she has this field and she takes very good care of that because she has to take care of the agaves that would have like a very good notes at the end. [00:09:48] Speaker B: Es importante para nosotros tener nuestro propio agave desde la forma en que queremos que se corte, quitar muy bien el cogollo. Necesitamos tener ese derecho de saber, de no poner químicos a la planta, de ser cuidada lo más natural posible. [00:10:12] Speaker C: We have to be very careful in the way we take care of the agaves because there's something special and have you caught the agave and koboyo, which is the internal part of the agave, because it has everything, everything is special. We don't put any chemics, we don't put anything to accelerate any of the. Of the agave to be like to grow up on their own and in their own time. [00:10:47] Speaker A: So let's talk about a couple of brands that come out of your distillery that I've had and I'm pretty excited about one of them being a TC craft and the other one being Lagrange. What was it like working with two people that came in with kind of an idea of how they wanted their tequila to taste and how hard was it to put their profiles together for. [00:11:12] Speaker B: Fíjate, Brad, que tenemos varios tequilas que maquilamos. La Gritora, TC Kraft, Mascota. Solo esos tres tequilas fuera de casa. Nosotros teníamos que seguir un mismo mapeo, así se llama, para hacer un tequila orgánico, oxigenado, tener las mismas cualidades pero diferentes notas y todo, toda esta diferencia se hace en la fermentación. [00:11:49] Speaker C: So different tequilas, the brands that are made at the distillery, they have something in common as well, they don't have chemicals and Melly did process mapping for each brand. And the secret is in the fermentation. So that's where there's where Melly plays with all the tequilas and dust here and magic awesome. [00:12:27] Speaker A: ¿What are the things that make Linda stand out from some of those other brands? [00:12:32] Speaker B: Aunque casi todos tienen el mismo mapeo. Leyenda de México es el tequila de casa. Entonces es mayormente cuidado desde elegir exactamente los agaves del campo. Yo para hacer Leyendas de México, voy al campo y digo, esta esta piña si quieres traducir y así para que no sea. [00:13:02] Speaker C: Even though all the tequilas have the same process mapping or root mapping, legendary is that the house tequila. It's so it's special for me because what makes a difference is that Mellie goes to the fields and when she's at the fields, she chooses like each agave, like this agave goes for leyenda. The one in the other road, in the second place goes to leyenda. And she chooses every agave for Leyenda de México, especially by herself. [00:13:44] Speaker B: ¿Seleccionamos desde el agave y me podrás preguntar qué es lo que seleccionas? El porcentaje de bracitos con mayor madurez en el agave. [00:14:01] Speaker C: What is what you choose in each agave that makes different. So what Meli focuses in each agave, it depends on the arms. [00:14:16] Speaker B: Y por ejemplo, en la destilación, en la fermentación, esperamos hasta el punto cero para poder destilar. ¿Que es el punto cero para nosotros quiere decir que cuando termina la fermentación todos los entecitos que están tomando azúcar para hacer alcohol mueren y hacen una pequeña capa? [00:15:10] Speaker C: Die, they make like a little layer at the top. [00:15:17] Speaker B: O sea que mueren y entonces hacen una pequeña caja. El punto cero para nosotros es saber en qué momento preciso tenemos que destilar para que no se se haga agri. [00:15:38] Speaker C: So in that point they pay a lot of attention because in that point it all goes to the destillation process and it has to be in that certain point because if not the flavor changes and it becomes like a little bit acid. [00:15:58] Speaker B: En ese punto exactamente haces toda una fiesta de olores y sabores en el fermento. Si nos pasamos, entonces se echa a perder porque el siguiente paso es que. [00:16:28] Speaker C: Se avinagra because the next step is to vinegar the tequila. [00:16:34] Speaker A: Okay, so let's talk about that production method a little bit. Let's go into what are we using for the cooking method. [00:16:43] Speaker B: Bueno, nosotros lo cocemos en cuevas, los famosos hornos de mampostería. El cocimiento también es importante para los diferentes perfiles de los otros tequilas. [00:16:59] Speaker C: Special oven. It's called like little caves called Melly but it's a mansouri oven. It's traditional from our ancestrals and that's what also makes it different and special because as well they merely doesn't use any chemicals, any accelerations, anything. It's just cooked for twenty four hours and then she let them rest for another twenty four hours so that brings. [00:17:32] Speaker A: Special notes as well and then using a roller mill for extraction. [00:17:40] Speaker B: Solo molinos, realmente la piedra y todo eso realmente no da ningún otro sabor. Nuestra es bien los jugos. Entonces la taona creo que ya no. Ya no funciona. [00:17:58] Speaker C: Yes, she only uses the roller millers and Melly believes that all the rocks and doesn't bring that special flavor. It doesn't bring like everything. Like the roller miller, you lose a lot of sugar. [00:18:29] Speaker B: Y es abierta. Usamos mucho la microbiótica. [00:18:36] Speaker C: Yes, it's open and we use a lot. [00:18:43] Speaker B: Teniendo fermentación abierta absorbes todo lo que viene del medio ambiente. Estamos en un lugar muy lejano del pueblo y tenemos una presa enfrente. Entonces tenemos una microbiota muy limpia. [00:19:12] Speaker C: We are far away from the town and we are near these deep waters around. So the environment and the microbiota it. [00:19:23] Speaker A: Is very pure, very rich and then twice distilled. ¿Are you using copper stills or stainless steels? ¿Or copper coil stills? [00:19:34] Speaker B: Sí. Tenemos alambiques de acero inoxidable y nuestros serpentines únicamente son de cobre. [00:19:53] Speaker A: ¿Ok, so after you've got it all distilled, is there a resting period for the blanco or do you go straight to bottle? [00:20:02] Speaker B: El blanco, para empezar, lo dejamos reposar casi siempre alrededor de quince, veintidós días, No inmediatamente de la destilación se manda el envasado. Dejamos que se estabilice y se homogenice. [00:20:27] Speaker C: They left them to restaurant for twenty four. [00:20:33] Speaker B: No. [00:20:36] Speaker C: Fifteen to twenty two days before bottling, because that brings you like a bond and an homogeneous transition. And so no, we don't bottle right away, we let them breast. [00:20:54] Speaker B: Y después se pone oxígeno, ya que se homogeniza, que los átomos se unen, entonces después damos oxigenación. [00:21:19] Speaker A: OK. [00:21:23] Speaker B: Aparte de que es una manera de suavizar, resalta mucho los olores y los sabores. [00:21:32] Speaker C: Then, besides that, it makes, it makes it smooth. It also helps in bringing like the notes that become like you can smell them and taste them better. [00:21:49] Speaker A: Yeah. So same blanco is going into some barrels for. Reposado. [00:21:56] Speaker B: Si. Nuestro valor agregado en Leyendas de México es que, por ejemplo, el reposado, se le puede llamar reposado cuando está dos meses, un día en barricas. Un tequila blanco ya es reposado. [00:22:21] Speaker C: It has to be aged for two months one day. But here in legendary Mexico, Meli gives like this differentiation of she let them age for nine months that gives it. [00:22:38] Speaker A: A great flavor, a nice caramel flavor. It's a very nice reposado. I and I am enjoying it right now. [00:22:46] Speaker B: Gracias, Gracias. Se hace con mucho amor. Sí tenemos roble blanco americano y en el reposado eventualmente ponemos una que otra barrica de roble blanco francés, hacemos una como mezcla. [00:23:13] Speaker C: We use a combination of the French oak and American oak. [00:23:23] Speaker B: Pues en el añejo volvemos a lo mismo. Nuestro año, el añejo normal según la norma del tequila, es un año, un día. Nuestro añejo es forzosamente alrededor de tres años, y nuestro extra añejo, en vez de ser tres años, es nueve años. Ahorita es el único en la industria nuestro tequila extrañejo con 9 años. [00:24:02] Speaker C: As well in the añejo, for it to call añejo, it needs to be aged for one year, one day, and melly aged the añejo for three years and also in the extra añejo it is aged for nine years, which is like very unique in the industry. [00:24:24] Speaker A: So you mentioned the French oak and the American oak. ¿Are they being aged in the American and finished in the French? ¿Are they aged in both and then blended together? [00:24:35] Speaker B: No usamos ponemos el tequila en barricas de roble francés y americano. Cuando termina su tiempo, hacemos la mezcla o el ensamble, pero primero cierto tiempo en uno, no se pone en barricas al mismo tiempo. [00:25:02] Speaker C: Yes, the French and the And then you do the blank. [00:25:08] Speaker A: So let's go into the name. ¿What does the name mean? [00:25:13] Speaker B: Fíjate que los nombres, ya ves que cada tequila tiene diferente nombre, son las leyendas. Yo quería hacer un tequila que fuera una experiencia, no nomás que fuera una bebida alcohólica. Entonces quise llevar un pedazo de México en ese tequila. Y son nuestras leyendas de muchísimo tiempo atrás. [00:25:39] Speaker C: Melly wanted to be like special for being experienced when you drink the tequila. So the names are from every. Well, some of the legends that we have here in Mexico. So when you also drink, you have the experience also to talk about the legends and have a little culture and have experience in Datequila to bring a piece of Mexico to the world. [00:26:06] Speaker B: Las leyendas A mí siempre cuando era pequeña me gustaba mucho los cuentos. Y a veces mi mamá o mi papá me platicaban no cuentos, sino leyendas de nuestros ancestros. Entonces a mí me llamaba mucho la atención eso. Entonces por eso hice algo que pudiera comunicar nuestras raíces. [00:26:35] Speaker C: When she was a little girl, her parents, her mother and her father told her these stories, but not any stories like any other stories they tell her legendas, the Mexican legendas. So that's why she chose that name, Leyendas de México. And in every representation it has a different legend. So that's what was very special for Meli. [00:27:04] Speaker B: ¿Y qué crees, Bra? Puras leyendas de amor. [00:27:09] Speaker C: ¿And what do you think, Brad? They're just love stories, legend, very romantic. [00:27:18] Speaker A: Well, the bottle design is stunning, so so tell me the story of how you came upon this bottle design and picked this. [00:27:27] Speaker B: Fíjate que realmente no era así exactamente como era una botella para mi papá de una mujer. Yo quería ser como el cuerpo de una mujer. Esto era como una cintura, solamente que a la hora de mandarlo a hacer, pues esto no se puede, esto no se puede, esto no se puede y quedó así. Pero realmente era estilizado de ambas partes y adelante y atrás. [00:28:08] Speaker C: From a woman to her father of this body shape of like a woman. But when she led the designs to the to the production it was impossible because of the molds it were like many things that cannot be done. So they tried to go with the idea that Mellie had with the molds that can be done. So that was a result of the bottle. [00:28:42] Speaker A: What's beautiful. [00:28:45] Speaker B: Gracias. [00:28:47] Speaker A: Tell me about this right here because this is pretty awesome and it's one of. ¿And what does that mean? [00:29:00] Speaker B: Híjole, qué buena pregunta. Bra. Es el Caballero Águila. Es una leyenda. [00:29:10] Speaker C: El Caballero Águila. It's a legend. [00:29:14] Speaker B: Un lacayo o un agente del pueblo se enamoró de la hija del rey. [00:29:20] Speaker C: The legend, it goes this way. El Caballero Águila. He was like this person that is like a little bit humble and from town and he falls in love with a. [00:29:38] Speaker B: Pero no se podía casar. No podía dar la mano de su hija. El rey más que a los que pertenecieran a una congregación de guerreros o a un grupo de guerreros. [00:30:02] Speaker C: To this special group. [00:30:05] Speaker B: Y sus guerreros, sus grupos era los Guerreros Jaguar, los Guerreros Serpiente órdenes o la orden de Jaguar, Jaguar Serpientes. Pero él no era guerrero, el Caballero. Entonces el rey lo mandó a la guerra para que lo mataran. Entonces lo que pasó es que en la guerra mataron al general, mataron al jefe. [00:30:55] Speaker C: So in war, the leader was killed. [00:31:01] Speaker B: Entonces él tomó la cabeza. Entonces ganó la pelea, ganó la guerra y llevó todos los guerreros sobrevivientes con el rey. [00:31:20] Speaker C: So he won the war and he was the leader of the war and he brought safe. [00:31:30] Speaker B: Yo me siento poquito como eso. [00:31:33] Speaker C: Pero después de eso. [00:31:36] Speaker B: Regresó llevando a todo. Entonces el rey le hizo una orden especial para él. [00:31:45] Speaker C: So then when he came back and widowed and he won and protected everyone the king ordered him to be. [00:31:55] Speaker B: Los guerreros. Y se llamaba esa orden los Caballeros Águila. Y yo me siento. Al principio me sentía un poquito así. [00:32:11] Speaker C: And Melly feels identified with that because at the beginning in the industry she felt a little bit like that. [00:32:19] Speaker B: Yo no tenía ese abolengo. [00:32:22] Speaker C: She didn't have a father that owned a distillery, not even a grandfather that owns a distillery. [00:32:28] Speaker B: No era mi familia alguien importante en el medio. [00:32:32] Speaker C: Her family was not like some family important in the industry and she had to fight a lot for her to give her own place in the industry. So that's why she feels this connection with the Caballero Águila which is a great water. So Nelly feels like this. [00:32:56] Speaker A: Wow, That's amazing. So not only Maestro Tequilera, but a warrior but also I think a romantic at heart. Okay, so this is going to take us right to that next step you've been crowned the Queen of Tequila. ¿What is it like having that title? [00:33:20] Speaker C: Que fuiste nombrada la Reina del Tequila. ¿Que se siente tener ese título? [00:33:24] Speaker B: Ay va. Es un título que no creo merecer. [00:33:31] Speaker C: It's a title that she thinks she's. She doesn't deserve. [00:33:35] Speaker A: ¿So when you started the distillery knowing that today you're known for employing women, was that an intention from the start or did that just happen as you built the business? [00:33:53] Speaker B: Estamos en un pueblo muy pequeño. [00:33:57] Speaker C: We are in a very little town in the highlands of Jalisco. [00:34:03] Speaker B: Lo primero es de que no querían una tequilera en ese pueblo. Entonces los hombres no creían que fuera bueno. Y no fueron eso. [00:34:25] Speaker C: Like good to have a master distillery woman so they didn't like they didn't were interested in Portdale. [00:34:34] Speaker B: Y segundo, en estos pueblos la mayoría de los hombres van a buscar mejores oportunidades a Estados Unidos. Entonces había más mujeres que hombres en ese pueblo. [00:34:47] Speaker C: And also men go like very commonly to the United States to follow the American dream. So there were many few men at the town. [00:35:04] Speaker B: Y cuando hice la solicitud, llegaron puras mujeres. [00:35:09] Speaker C: So when Melly put like everything for was looking for people to work at the distillery. Actually what happened is that lots of women went to us for a job. Mamás, hijas, abuelitas, moms, daughters, grandmothers. Los hombres que no servían. [00:35:45] Speaker A: So true. When somebody gets a bottle of Lainda, what do you hope that they experience when they open that bottle for the. [00:35:55] Speaker B: Para empezar, yo quisiera que al tomar un trago recordaran que en ese tequila van todos los sueños y las ilusiones de muchas mujeres mexicanas. [00:36:09] Speaker C: That for starters Melly would like them to experience that in each every single sip of that tequila there comes a lot of dreams and achievements of the woman behind. [00:36:25] Speaker B: Que sepan, se hacen bien las cosas. [00:36:29] Speaker C: People to know that in Mexico we do very good tequila, very good work. [00:36:36] Speaker B: Y que se la pasen bien. [00:36:37] Speaker C: And for they to have a very good time. [00:36:43] Speaker A: So if she could sit down and have a drink of leanda with anybody in in history, the here and now famous not famous. Who would she most like to sit down and share this tequila with. And share this story about this tequila with. [00:37:05] Speaker B: Muy buena pregunta. [00:37:08] Speaker C: Very good question. [00:37:09] Speaker B: No más porque no las dejo, pero me encantaría tomar una copa con todas las chicas de la empresa. [00:37:25] Speaker C: With all the girls at the distillery. [00:37:28] Speaker A: That's very good. That's awesome. ¿So what is in the future for Leanda? ¿Is there any new products or any new things coming out that we need to know about? [00:37:39] Speaker B: Fíjate que necesitamos primero que conozcan lo que tenemos de Leyendas de México. En diciembre estamos preparando un tequila como una selección especial de Leyendas de México a 55 grados. Va a ser una mezcla de algunos agaves que tenemos cuidando con el perfil de leyendas, pero eso es lo que. Sí, una selección especial para un tequila de 55 grados. [00:38:21] Speaker C: Presenting a new high proof tequila with fifty five percent with this combination of a very good agave chosen by Melly herself as well. So that's the new thing. [00:38:38] Speaker A: It's come with all of the high proofs and still strengths that are coming out. Is it changing the profile of how Mexicans drink tequila or are the high proofs mostly coming just the US o. [00:38:53] Speaker B: Realmente en México tomamos treinta y cinco, cuarenta, cincuenta y cinco. En México no tenemos problema con eso. ¿Más bien ha sido como una moda que la gente quiere probar el tequila tal cual sale de los alambiques, No? [00:39:13] Speaker C: Like it's that in Mexico here we used to drink like in the thirty five, forty, fifty five. It's just, it's just a trend and people like to taste the tequila when it's taken right away from the alambica. [00:39:34] Speaker A: So that's why that is my favorite as well. So we've seen tequila go from a traditionally made product to the move into highly industrial made additive tequilas. ¿Do you feel that there's a real shift where tequila is trending back to the traditional methods and more ancestral methods? ¿And do you think that will continue into the future? [00:40:02] Speaker B: Yo creo que las personas están cambiando, valoran más la salud, los no químicos. Yo creo que definitivamente la gente es la que está pidiendo estos productos más sanos. [00:40:39] Speaker C: They are good for our body. [00:40:43] Speaker A: ¿Do you think that trend will continue to move more traditional in the future? [00:40:47] Speaker B: Espero que sí. [00:40:48] Speaker C: She hope so. [00:40:50] Speaker B: Realmente necesita el mundo un cambio. Y yo siempre he pensado que el tequila tiene que ser como lo tomaban nuestros abuelos. [00:41:11] Speaker C: Grandparents, used to drink. [00:41:14] Speaker B: Nuestros abuelos no tenían químicos, no tenían esas maquinarias para hacer el producto. Y aunque cueste más trabajo, tiempo para producir una botella, el tequila lo merece. Y el cliente lo merece. Si, estamos en varios estados. [00:42:06] Speaker C: Yes. We are actually in several states. [00:42:09] Speaker B: Y en unos cuantos meses vamos a estar en todos Estados Unidos. [00:42:16] Speaker A: ¿If you had to design your legacy in one sentence, what would it be? [00:42:21] Speaker B: Qué buena pregunta. [00:42:22] Speaker C: Very good, Christian. [00:42:25] Speaker B: Yo creo mucho en las mujeres. Yo lo que les diría a ellas el cielo es tu limit. [00:42:38] Speaker C: The sky is your limit. [00:42:39] Speaker A: And that probably goes along with creating the distillery and having all women. If you could tell little girls today, what you feel. ¿The most important thing is what would you tell them? ¿What would you want your story to be to them? [00:42:56] Speaker B: Yo les diría que busquen algo que les guste. Es importante hacer lo que te gusta, pero que lo hagan bien. [00:43:21] Speaker C: When you start doing it doing the right way. [00:43:25] Speaker B: Si deciden solo ser amas de casa. [00:43:29] Speaker C: If you decide just to be, to be at home, do it right. [00:43:37] Speaker A: Well, that's something that everybody needs to hear and understand that if you do something you love and you do it with passion, it'll reward you every day, all day long.
