Lalo High Proof 2024 vs 2025 Taste Test Results! Lalo High Proof 2024 vs 2025 taste test results. Full tequila comparison of aroma, flavor, finish, and proof differences from NOM 1468. Which Lalo High Proof release is better? Lalo High Proof 2024 vs 2025 — the taste test results are in! Today I compare the 108-proof 2024 release with the brand-new 2025 100-proof bottle to see which one delivers better aroma, flavor, finish, and overall balance. If you’re a fan of Lalo, clean additive-free tequila, or NOM 1468, you’re going to want to watch this showdown. The 2024 offers a deeper cooked-agave nose with a touch of funk and a warmer, longer finish. The 2025 brings brighter citrus notes, smoother edges, and a surprisingly rounded palate despite the lower proof. Both represent the legacy of Lalo González — grandson of Don Julio — and his mission to make an honest, traditional tequila for the family to enjoy. But which bottle truly stands out in 2025? [00:00:00] All right, it is time for the Lalo high proof showdown. All right, I have the 2024 Lalo high proof. Now, this one, it's been open for a while. It's been hanging out. We've been drinking a little bit of it. I liked the Lalo High proof way more than I like the Lalo regular proof. I don't want to say way more. It just had a lot more flavor for me, so I was really excited about it. Now, this one, fresh pop. [00:00:26] We're going to pour the new 2025, and I thought it'd be a good idea to compare the two and see if I could tell the difference. Now, this one, 108 proof. This one, 100 proof. So the old one was a higher proof than the new one, and I usually like the higher proof. And we all know the story of Lalo, grandson of Don Julio, didn't have a great tequila to drink after Don Julio went through their sale and and wanted to create a tequila that the family could enjoy. So this is it right here. Coming out of nom 1468 Highland tequila made very authentically. Let's dive into these two here real quick. I'm going to dive into the 2024 first. Great cooked agave smell. Smells like Lalo to me. All right, let's jump over to the 2025 now. Very similar. This one has a little bit more citrus in it than what the 2024 does. 2. 2024 seems to have a little bit of a. The coat agave has a little bit of a funkier smell to me than what the new one does. So on the nose, I like the nose of 24 better than 25. Let's do the taste. I'm going to do the taste of 25 first. [00:01:33] Nice cooked agave. A little bit of a minerality, a nice floral note that turns into a very much so a citrus note. And not as much burn as I was expecting at 100 proof. It does have a nice slight peppery finish. It's a nice balanced finish. And I pick up some more citrus and a little bit of lemon in the actual finish of that one. So let's try this one here. Very similar. [00:01:59] I can tell this one is a higher proof. This one has a little bit more heat. The finish is a little warmer, and the finish definitely is lasting longer. The same citrus, lemon zest in the finish that I get. The same cooked agave. So really good tequila. Both of these are great. You can't go wrong with either one of them. I love the whole story of Lalo and what this tequila stands for and what it's all about. And I am really hopeful that the product stays the same now that they've gone through their change and their purchase. So fingers crossed that we continue to get great, fantastic Lalo tequila. And I'm going to say I like the nose of 24 better, but I kind of like the roundness of 25 a little better. Less heat, but all of the same flavors. So I'm going to give it up to 2025 Lalo high proof. Cheers. Have a great night. Thanks for watching.
