[00:00:01] Hey, guys, I got another one to review here that I'm pretty excited about. Tres Agaves. It's a brand that a lot of people ask me about, and if it's one that I like, and it is a great brand, to me, it's a little bit more of a brand that I'm going to use for a mixer than I would for a sipper. And it's currently made at the same distillery, Titap, where they make Cascades, which is a great tequila, but it used to be made at nom 1522 with Ileana Partita as the master distiller. And this bottle here, if you can find it, this is the Trace Agaves extra Anejo single barrel program that they did. And this one just came out in September of 2024. That's when this one was bottled. This is from barrel number 40. This is aged 74 months and five days. It is aged in four roses barrels. And like I said, Eliana was the master distiller of this one. This is bottle number 61 out of 138. And this extra anejo, which isn't something that I really drink a lot of, I picked up for $90. So I. I happened to be at one of our local grocery stores and walked through the liquor section, as I always do, and there it was on the bottom shelf. So I picked it up and brought it home. I've tasted it. I've let it rest. Let's go ahead and do a little review of it. Has a great color to it. And to think that it's been aged for 74 months and it's really not mega, super dark. Just says, you know, it's probably done the right way. Right.
[00:01:40] You definitely get those nice barrel notes right on the nose. I can get some caramel in there. I get a nice cooked agave, you know, a nice tequila smell.
[00:01:52] I pick up a little bit of a fruit smell as well.
[00:01:56] Has a great mouth feel. You definitely get cooked agave right on the. Right in the beginning of the flavor. And then those barrel notes kind of kick in. You get some vanilla, some caramel, a little bit of a mustiness. That is, to me, that barrel. I get a little dried fruit as well. That same that I got in the nose, I kind of pick up in the palate.
[00:02:19] Wow, look at the legs on that thing. It's really got a great mouth feel. I get a little bit of cinnamon in the finish. It's a little bit of spice and a little bit of sweetness in this, too. The. The sweetness kind of comes in, in that second taste. This is a really great tequila. And when you think of an extra on Yejo for, you know, $90, I mean, there's some extra onyejos up on the shelf that are, you know, $250 and $300.
[00:02:49] This is a really special tequila, so if you can find it. I don't know how many bottles are out there of this tequila. You know, Tracic obviously, is a brand that produces a lot of tequila, but I'm really unsure of how many barrels they did that. That was the last run that Iliano, you know, participated in as the master distiller. You know, this is bottle number 40, so there could be many bottles. I do know that there are some single barrels that have been sold. Two different companies where their names on that single barrel. So if you see this black label extra anejo, it's one to pick up. This is a great sipping tequila. It's. It's a dessert tequila for sure.
[00:03:31] That sweetness, that. That little bit of burnt sugar or like a creme brulee into some cinnamon in the finish. This is a fantastic tequila. So great job, Ileana, for making an amazing tequila, and it's definitely one to check out. Tres Agaves, thanks for tuning in.
