This high proof tequila is distilled to proof with no dilution, bold agave flavor, and a big debate around authenticity. [00:00:00] Can a big brand be authentic or do we automatically tear it down before we've ever even tried it? I recently had somebody tell me that I'm not being authentic in my videos, that I use AI to help put together my stuff, and that's just bad business. And it got me thinking, you know, how many times do we just completely discount something because we don't like it or because we don't think, you know, it's what we think it should be? And that's why I thought this would be the perfect to do with this video. I haven't opened this yet. I haven't tried it, and I know a lot of people are going to be negative about it before I even start. So I want you to know I went to Total Wine to purchase this bottle. It was not sent to me by Patron. I don't do big enough on my videos for Patron to know who I am. And I wanted to do an authentic review of this to honor crushed Patron tequila. So let's get it in the glass and talk about it a little bit. [00:00:50] All right. We all know Patron can make great tequila. They've done it in the past. Today we're going to talk about the new Patron 100. This is a 100 proof tequila that just dropped. I'm surprised it's even in Indiana right now. This is 100% Tahona production. It is stone oven cooked. It is then fermented with fibers, which is definitely the old way of making tequila. And this one doesn't have any water added to it after distillation. They actually distilled it to the 50% ABV or 100 proof. That is actually a process in distillation that can be done. It's a pretty difficult process and quite honestly, it's a bold move for a brand this size. A lot of people dog on Patron, they're like, it's not traditional. You know, they have additives, whatever. So here's their attempt to make a true authentic tequila. So let's dive into it. Let's get on the nose first. That's a really nice cooked agave. There's a nice citrus note. I can actually pick up a peppery note. The citrus, I'm going to say, is it's almost a blend between a little bit of an orange and a. And a lime zest. Let's dive into the taste of this one. Great mouthfeel. Nice earthiness that lime is there in the taste. But what I picked up right off the bat is almost like a pine or a juniper type Note has really nice. The finish of it is a nice, spicy, peppery finish, and it's really balanced. Now I want to take another hit of this second. Tastes better than the first. I can't wait to let this actually open up to see what all the flavors that I get out of this. And here's what I want to say. Don't hate, just to hate. If you don't like Patron's other products and they come out and tell you they're doing something incredibly authentic, try it. Then if you don't like it, you can say you don't like it. But to stand from one end of the room and shout across to the other, that's no good. And you've never tasted it. That's not really fair. And it's not being authentic to yourself. So for me, this is not only good in a cocktail, but this would be a sipper. This is a Patron bottle that if I seen it in a bar, I would ask for a glass of it neat. This is one that. That I would drink. So for me, yes, a brand this size can actually do something authentic. And as a person that went out and bought the bottle to do the review. There you go. If you could put in your comments if you think that I am authentic in the videos that I do, and if there's anything you'd like to see me do different. I truly care about the agave spirits world, and I truly love tequila and the brands that I talk about. So if you see something that you think I'm doing that I should do better or different, please let me know. And for this wonderful night, pour yourself a really good tequila, sit back and get excited about life and the people around you. Cheers.
