[00:00:00] Is Oscar Vazquez making some of the best tequila coming out of Jalisco right now. Today we're going to taste the Musto Blanco batch number two and find out what's up everybody. I'm Brad with tasting tequila with Brad and today we're going to go through this new Musto Batch 2. They just sent this to me. I'm so thankful that they did that. This is the first time I've had this blanco stateside. I did have it back in September when we were with the Musto gang hanging out for Independence Day in Arandas and it was absolutely awesome. So I'm really looking forward to opening up this bottle and giving this a try. And honestly, one of the biggest reason reasons I'm excited about this is because of Oscar Vazquez Camarena, the master distiller behind this brand. If you followed my channel for any length of time, you've heard me talk about Oscar before. He's become one of the most respected young tequila makers in the industry. His background includes time at El Pendillo working alongside some of the best minds in tequila. He's built a reputation of creating additive free tequilas that are incredibly expressive and agave forward. This one, Musto, he is producing the SITNAM 1580 which is located in Jesus Maria in the highlands of Jalisco. The agaves are all estate grown. They're cooked in traditional brick ovens there they're using a roller mill for extraction. The fermentation is all open air in stainless steel tanks using a natural yeast. And then this is twice distilled with copper contact in the stills. So meaning this is a stainless steel still that has copper coils inside of it. So that kind of checks all the boxes on how it's made. Let's put this in the glass. [00:01:30] Nice fresh pop there. Let's. [00:01:38] Okay, let's get a nose on this one right away. That cooked agave, it's so there, there's a nice minerality with this one. The. It's like spring. It smells like wet rain on some rocks. There's a little bit of a citrus, like a lime zest and it's a little bit. [00:01:54] It's kind of herbal as. As well. [00:01:57] Since I've been using that nose training kit, I'm going to say that I'm picking up a little bit of clove and there is just a little bit of hint of cinnamon, like a nice spicy cinnamon in there. Let's dive into this one. [00:02:11] The cooked agave, the cinnamon spice, lots of cinnamon, really nice and sweet. Some Orange kind of pops out of there. There's a little bit of vegetalness. [00:02:21] The. There is that same minerality that you get in the nose, but not near as distinct. Just like the cinnamon was faint. The cinnamon is right forward. It is so good. It's just. [00:02:32] Man, this is. This is a great one. If you can find musto, definitely get this one. If you like a cinnamon forward agave, forward tequila, great mouthfeel. It's about a medium. It's not one of those really thick ones, but it does have, like, some nice legs on the glass, and it kind of carries all the flavor across your palate. It's the finish on this is clean. It's kind of a little bit longer than I remember it being the first time I had this. But it kind of starts off kind of medium, and then it builds a little bit. There's some pepperiness there. But the cinnamon hangs around for a long time. The agave is there all the way through the end. Now, I gotta tell you, this is exactly what you want in a blanco. And if you've ever tried the musto high proof right there, that is just a bomb is what is so good. [00:03:15] If you're a fan of Oscar Vasquez already and you know some of the other brands that he makes, his fingerprint is in this glass. I gotta tell you, this is one of those tequilas that I would look for. This is gonna be a high rating on Tequila Matchmaker for me. It's a really solid blanco. Great production method, great complexity. This is one that I would share with my friends to show them what a blanco tequila is supposed to taste like. So if you've had this Musto batch two blanco, put it in the comments, let me know what you think of it. And always remember, sip wisely, drink responsibly, and keep on tasting. Tequila Salute.
