Hidden Gem? Tierra de Libertad Tequila Review (90 Proof + 1 Liter!)

[00:00:00] Hey guys, I got a good one here for you. Tonight I got the opportunity to do an interview with Juan Pina, the owner of Tierra de Libertad. And this is a great tequila. Couple things I like about it. One, it comes out in a full one liter bottle. That's always awesome because I drink a lot of tequila. Two, it comes out as a high proof, 45% ABV or 90 proof. And this tequila really celebrates a lot of Mexican history. And if you want to find out more about it, you can watch the interview that I did with Juan on my YouTube channel. And, and he kind of explains the whole history behind the bottle, the logo, how they make the tequila. And this guy's not just a tequila guy. He also owns a Mezcal brand that is really phenomenal as well. I've already done a review on that one. Prolijo. Probably one of the best Mezcals that I've ever had. This tequila is really good. This tequila is made at nom 1577. Agave Conquista is made with nice ripe agaves. It's cooked in a stone brick oven. It's crushed through a roller mill. It is closed fermentation in stainless steel tanks. So they're doing it the right way, making a good tequila that way. So let's, let's dive into it. Let's, let's check it out. [00:01:12] It's got a lot of cooked agave. It's got a lot of vegetal notes, kind of a little bit of minerality as well. [00:01:21] I get even a little bit of like pepper on the nose. Not like, not like nice pepper, but like a, like a bell pepper or a red or green pepper. [00:01:31] Wow. This one's got a lot going on. You get the cooked agave, you get a nice sweetness, a really nice mouth feel. But I pick up like a lot of fruit in the flavor. [00:01:42] I get some, some pear, like a really fresh pearl, a little bit of apple. The finish isn't super long, but it does kind of linger a little bit with the tingling in the back of your mouth. I get a little, a little dark pepper on the finish of this. This is a very easy tequila to drink. [00:02:01] It's a really rich flavored bron blanco with that. That pear is so present and it kind of brings out a little bit of cinnamon in the finish as well, which is really nice. This is a good tequila, definitely. Check it out.
